David Howard, former Head Gardener to HRH The Prince of Wales at Highgrove House, has more recently been involved in the new BBC programme, The Manor Reborn, filmed at Avebury Manor in Wiltshire. He was contracted to design, build and present the restoration of the walled Victorian kitchen garden as part of a new initiative between The BBC and The National Trust.

David has over 40 years of gardening experience, starting with some tomato plants when he was 6 years old. He is a graduate of The Royal Botanic Garden, Edinburgh, he has worked for HM The Queen at Windsor Castle as a student gardener and twice for the well known nurserymen Hillier’s of Winchester.
Since leaving the garden at Highgrove in 2008, David has pursued a career as a freelance Horticultural Consultant and Lecturer, he also designs and builds gardens.
